With Asian-influenced, tasty street food, as well as delectable treats from around the world, the Glenfield Night Markets make you feel like you’ve travelled overseas. The smells, the people and the sheer amount of stalls will make you forget you’re in an Auckland suburb.

Held in the underground car park beneath the Glenfield Mall on the beautiful North Shore every Sunday Night, it makes dinner time a breeze. Starting in Pakuranga in 2011, the Night Markets have expanded rapidly due to their appeal to all age groups.

The markets have a great deal of food, fashion items and toys which won’t break the bank. With worldwide cuisines for main meals and a wide variety of dessert stalls, the options are endless. The hardest part is deciding between fruit ice cream, waffles, churros, tarts and more. A personal favourite of mine would be the dumplings, $5 for 15 – bargain alert! The smell alone is enough to get your mouth well and truly watering.

Whether you’re on a night out with the family or date night with your partner, it’s a fun place just to stroll around, taking in the diversity of the people and their offerings. Glenfield Night Markets– a way to experience food from other cultures, hear live music and watch performances. Once a week, it shines with vibrancy.
