A second man has been arrested this week following the aggravated robbery at a Caltex gas station in Dannevirke, with police quickly sifting through  CCTV footage as part of their investigation.

Two men attacked the Dannevirke gas station late in the evening on Saturday, March 23, and threatened the staff with a sawn-off baseball bat before getting away with cash and cigarettes.

Following the aggravated robbery, two 16-year-old males were arrested, the second of the two young men will appear in the Palmerston North Youth Court on Friday, March 31.

Police noted the arrests would not have happened so quickly without the help of the local community.
