A major three car pile up on Massey’s main road caused chaos on Thursday afternoon.

The crashed happened at the top of Don Buck Road, between Helena Street and Woodside Drive.

The driver of a late model Ford Falcon heading up the steep and windy section of Massey’s main road, at the Swanson Road end, is believed to have crossed the centre line directly into the path of an oncoming Ford Falcon xr6 ute, colliding with it head-on. A third vehicle was also caught up in the collision.

Of the four people involved, one was in a serious condition, another in a moderate condition, while two others had moderate to minor injuries.

Police closed the road and put multiple detours in place using surrounding streets to clear the scene quickly.

All emergency services were in attendance, including the Police Serious Crash Unit.
